Fatima is recognised both regionally and nationally for her leadership in complex change and transformation initiatives across various systems and geographies. She currently serves as West Yorkshire’s inaugural Inclusivity Champion, an advisory position focused on addressing inequality as part of the Mayor’s commitment to enhance equality throughout the region.
In her role, Fatima collaborates closely with regional leaders within the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, providing expert guidance on inclusion and tackling social, economic, and health inequalities.
Fatima has established a strong reputation as an advocate for Public and Carer Involvement, Compassionate Leadership, and Inclusion. She has been consistently acknowledged in the HSJ's list of the top 50 most influential health leaders from ethnic minority backgrounds.
She has previously spearheaded several initiatives within the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership that have achieved multiple awards and gained national recognition. These efforts have contributed to significant legislative changes and government policy reforms in areas such as Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), Long-Term Conditions, Personalisation, and Carer Support.
In addition to her roles, Fatima serves on several non-executive boards, including the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where she is also a Non-Executive Director, and as Chair of the Sheffield Race Equality Partnership.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Fatima is an active podcaster and blogger who focuses on topics such as authentic leadership, health inequalities, EDI, and Public Carer Involvement. She is also involved at the national level as a member of the NHS Assembly and the King’s Fund General Council. Her previous roles include positions at NHS England, Kirklees CCGs, Kirklees Council, Health Education England, and Healthwatch.
